Krabi
Krabi is the quieter mainland base on the Andaman coast, known for longtail boats, limestone cliffs, Railay's climbing walls and island-hopping to the Phi Phi and Hong islands. It suits adventure, nature and slow-travel creators. The best months are roughly November to April; boat days are less reliable in the May to October monsoon.

When to come
November to April brings calm seas and clear water. From May to October the southwest monsoon brings more rain and swell; some island routes run less often or are cancelled on rough days. Tides matter all year: sandbars and some beaches look very different at high and low water, so we plan boat days around them.
Getting around on a hosted trip
Most hosted stays are around Ao Nang, where the longtail boats leave from. Transfers from Krabi airport are in a private vehicle; Railay and the islands are by boat.
Filming notes
- Popular beaches and viewpoints are busiest from late morning to mid-afternoon; early boats get empty frames.
- Much of the coast is marine national park. Park fees are covered only where the activity includes them, and drone flying in parks is restricted.
- Tiger Cave Temple is an active temple: cover shoulders and knees, and the climb is steep, so plan light kit.
- Longtail propellers are exposed. Keep clear of the back of the boat when filming in the water.
